2D Animation Director

What you will do

• Define and maintain the animation style, performance tone, visual rhythm, and storytelling quality across the production.
• Provide creative direction on acting, posing, timing, expressive performance, storyboards, animatics, and character design development.
• Lead, mentor, and support lead animators, animators, clean-up artists, FX animators, and junior talent.
• Run animation reviews, dailies, and feedback sessions; review and approve breakdowns, roughs, and final animation.
• Ensure animation follows model sheets, drawing guides, style bibles, and the show's visual language.
• Guide 2D pipeline best practices in Harmony, troubleshoot artistic and technical issues, and improve production workflows.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an Animation Director or Supervisor in 2D productions.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating hand-drawn 2D animation.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and traditional animation principles.
• Experience with both anime and Western animation art styles.
• Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony.
• Excellent communication skills and experience guiding animation teams.
