Director of Developer Relations (AI Infrastructure)

Location: San Francisco, United States; the role starts with a focus on the US and expands into EMEA and APAC as the function grows.

Salary: $230,000–$343,333 USD base salary per year, with potential bonus, equity, and/or commission programs.

What you will do

• Own the global developer relations strategy across technical content, community engagement, events, education, and developer adoption.
• Build a developer content engine covering documentation, code samples, demos, tutorials, notebooks, blog posts, and videos.
• Represent Nscale at conferences, meetups, hackathons, open-source communities, AI-native companies, and research groups.
• Connect Product, AI Platform Engineering, and Marketing teams by gathering developer feedback and identifying onboarding, documentation, tooling, and platform friction.
• Launch ambassador, open-source, research collaboration, training, and community programs, while defining KPIs and adoption dashboards.
• Build and lead the DevRel function, including its structure and hiring plan for DevRel engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in developer relations, advocacy, technical marketing, or developer-focused product roles, including director-level DevRel leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Machine Learning, Engineering, Computer Science, a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong ML and cloud infrastructure background with hands-on experience running AI workloads at scale, including GPU compute, distributed systems, Kubernetes, model fine-tuning, and production inference.
• Understanding of AI infrastructure adoption from prototype through development, testing, and production environments.
• Strong communication, technical storytelling, community engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and senior-leadership communication skills; openness to frequent travel is required.
• Experience measuring developer adoption and engagement, operating with ambiguity, and building a function from scratch.
