Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Foster City, California, or New York City (SoHo), United States

Salary: $180,000–$300,000 base annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Embed with strategic enterprise customers to design and build applications and AI-powered workflows from concept through production deployment.
• Architect secure, scalable solutions integrating Replit with existing systems, data, APIs, identity providers, and infrastructure.
• Integrate enterprise technologies including SSO, data warehouses, internal APIs, and SaaS systems.
• Own complex technical deployments, identify blockers, debug issues, and drive production adoption.
• Translate customer insights and technical constraints into feedback, templates, playbooks, and product requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams while shipping quickly and iterating from customer feedback and usage data.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and deploying production software.
• Strong programming skills and the ability to work across unfamiliar codebases, APIs, and technical environments.
• Hands-on production experience with LLM applications, including retrieval, tool calls, and evaluations.
• Experience designing and owning complex technical systems from architecture through production.
• Ability to independently drive ambiguous technical projects to completion and translate business needs into pragmatic solutions.
• Strong technical communication skills and experience working with customers, partners, or cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, consulting, or another technical customer-facing role.
• Experience building AI-powered applications, agents, or developer tools.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, application deployment, databases, APIs, authentication, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience integrating software into complex enterprise environments and identity and access management systems.
