Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; hybrid schedule required

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead technical design for projects and features, create architecture documents, and drive engineering consensus.
• Build and own scalable Spring Boot microservices with well-defined REST APIs.
• Design event-driven systems using SNS/SQS, EventBridge, or Kafka, and deploy serverless solutions with Lambda and Step Functions.
• Develop and maintain production systems using Java, TypeScript with Vue or React, and Python.
• Own CI/CD strategy, address technical debt and performance risks, and participate in on-call and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Significant professional software engineering experience with demonstrated growth.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot expertise for microservices, plus TypeScript with Vue or React for full-stack delivery.
• Deep SQL expertise covering query optimization, schema design, data modeling, and SQL versus NoSQL tradeoffs.
• Experience designing and deploying microservices on AWS or Azure, including event-driven and serverless patterns.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, designing REST APIs, mentoring engineers, and leading Agile/Scrum activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Python for data pipelines, automation, or ML/AI integration.
• LLM/AI experience, including RAG, multi-agent patterns, or prompt engineering.
• Multi-tenancy, platform design, distributed-systems performance optimization, or infrastructure as code with Terraform or CDK.
• Experience in security-focused, regulated, public safety, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading technical interviews and hiring processes.
