Investment Analyst Opportunistic Credit

Location: Newport Beach, California, USA; based in the Newport Beach office

Base salary: $135,000–$240,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Identify and evaluate public and private corporate debt and equity investments, including long and short positions.
• Research special situation, stressed, distressed, and event-driven investment opportunities.
• Partner with alternatives deal teams on diligence, underwriting, and investment management.
• Conduct detailed industry and company research, financial modeling, and credit documentation reviews.
• Present investment ideas and analysis to senior team members, portfolio managers, and investment committees.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of meaningful investment banking, credit research, and/or credit investing experience.
• Strong credit analysis and financial modeling experience.
• Outstanding academic credentials and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, initiative, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, make preliminary decisions quickly, and work with minimal direction.
• Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.

Nice to have

• Restructuring or distressed investment experience.
