Head of Vision Intelligence (AI)

Location: 665 Clyde Avenue, Mountain View, California, United States; office-based

Base pay range: $345,000–$440,000 USD per year, plus annual bonus eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead advanced research in vision AI, multimodal AI, agentic AI, modern deep learning, and generative AI.
• Define research priorities aligned with Samsung’s global strategy and future product roadmap.
• Identify opportunities with Samsung Research and global R&D partners to apply emerging AI technologies to products.
• Drive publications, patents, scientific events, workshops, and open challenges that strengthen the AI Center’s research impact.
• Attract, hire, mentor, and retain AI researchers and engineers while leading multidisciplinary research groups.
• Transfer research results into consumer-ready AI features across Samsung devices and services.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• 10+ years of post-PhD experience leading advanced AI research.
• Deep expertise in vision and multimodal AI, agentic AI, autonomous agents, reasoning, and decision-making.
• Strong foundations in computer vision, image and video processing, deep learning, and generative AI applications.
• Record of top-tier publications, impactful patents, and successful technology transfer to large-scale products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience defining long-term AI strategies and managing large, internationally distributed teams.
