TL;DR
AI Fellow (Healthcare and Biotechnology) (AI/Healthcare/Life Sciences): Researching healthcare and life sciences markets, venture opportunities, clinical challenges, and potential partners with an accent on biotechnology, therapeutics, computational methods, and applied AI. Focus on evaluating startups and technologies, conducting customer and clinical discovery, developing pilot and commercialization pathways, and translating scientific concepts into practical business opportunities.
Location: New York City; hybrid workplace with some activities taking place in person

AI-native venture studio and early-stage investment firm building and backing applied AI companies and operating the AI Nexus NYC venture studio.
What you will do
- Research emerging opportunities across healthcare, biotechnology, therapeutics, and life sciences.
- Identify clinical, scientific, operational, and commercial challenges that can be addressed with AI.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, customer discovery, and startup evaluation.
- Map hospitals, health systems, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and potential pilot partners.
- Support founders with product positioning, clinical use cases, pilot development, and commercialization pathways.
- Prepare company profiles, research briefs, presentations, and investor materials while tracking milestones and recommendations.
Requirements
- Current graduate student, recent graduate, researcher, clinician, operator, or industry professional.
- Experience or academic exposure in healthcare, biotechnology, biology, medicine, public health, computer science, AI, or a related field.
- Understanding of AI, machine learning, data science, or computational methods.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate scientific or clinical concepts into practical business opportunities.
- Ability to work independently in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare delivery, clinical workflows, biotechnology, therapeutics, computational biology, bioinformatics, drug discovery, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, healthcare data, regulatory strategy, or clinical research.
- Interest in startups, venture creation, and early-stage company building.
