Senior Backend DevOps Programmer (Game Development)

Location: Montreal studio; full-time on-site, 5 days per week

What you will do

• Design and architect modular, robust, scalable gameplay systems and server-side services.
• Implement APIs, databases, authentication systems, and data processing pipelines for large-scale game platforms.
• Architect, provision, and manage AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and zero-downtime updates.
• Investigate complex software and infrastructure issues, resolve root causes, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on technical requirements, specifications, reviews, and documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, preferably in gaming, with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#, backend technologies including Node, RESTful APIs, and non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
• Strong experience with AWS or GCP, including compute, networking, and managed database services.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and source control systems such as Git or Perforce.
• Experience with real-time multiplayer applications using sockets or WebSocket, mobile application development, and shipped online titles for console, PC, or mobile.
• Experience with Agile, Kanban, or similar methodologies and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Bilingual French and English communication skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of mobile gaming trends.
