Senior Financial Controller — Supply Chain & Manufacturing

What you will do

• Own the COGS buildup by product line, including bills of materials, labor, and overhead allocation.
• Track gross margin by product and customer, linking commercial pricing to actual production costs.
• Monitor procurement costs, material price variances, supplier performance, and volume-driven cost changes.
• Build production cost-per-unit trends across batches and identify the impact of scale, suppliers, design changes, and quality issues.
• Own the rolling operations forecast covering procurement commitments, production pipeline, delivery schedules, and cash impact.
• Provide inventory carrying-cost visibility and lead financial reviews on budgets, variances, and forward-looking cost risks.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in financial controlling, cost accounting, or industrial FP&A, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or hardware companies.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, overhead allocation, and activity-based costing.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex SUMIFS, scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and linked multi-tab workbooks.
• Ability to retrieve and analyze data independently from ERP systems and BI tools.
• Ability to communicate financial insights to operations leaders using metrics such as units, lead times, and quality rates.
• Fluent English required for all financial and cross-functional communication.

Nice to have

• Experience in a scaling company with rapidly increasing production volumes.
• Knowledge of European supply chains, including steel, electronics components, and contract manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of Python or SQL for larger datasets.
• Exposure to hardware certification costs, tooling amortization, or new product introduction economics.
