People Operations Manager (AI)

Cognition develops Devin, an AI software engineer, and builds AI systems capable of reasoning through real-world tasks.

What you will do

• Own and scale People systems, HR technology, data, workflows, integrations, and operational infrastructure.
• Design playbooks, checklists, documentation, tracking systems, and clear ownership models for People Operations.
• Lead US benefits administration and support the development of international benefits programs.
• Build compliance infrastructure and maintain employee policies and the company handbook across a multi-state and international workforce.
• Own the immigration program end to end and advise leaders on complex People situations, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
• Partner with Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, Recruiting, employees, and external vendors while using data to improve programs and controls.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in People Operations or HR at a fast-growing startup or technology company.
• Strong end-to-end experience owning and scaling benefits, immigration, compliance, HR systems, and employee operations.
• Experience working in a high-velocity environment where priorities evolve and processes are still being built.
• Strong first-principles thinking, practical problem-solving, and the ability to work through ambiguity independently.
• Strong analytical, data-driven, and program management skills, including cross-functional execution from planning through delivery.
