Director, Wealth Credit Risk

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 3 days per week on-site and other days remote

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day wealth credit adjudication function and ensure decisions are consistent, well reasoned, and aligned with credit risk guidelines.
• Lead, coach, and develop Credit Risk Managers with support from Team Leads.
• Partner with Private Banking leadership to support strategic credit growth while maintaining alignment with credit risk appetite.
• Ensure controls, processes, and risk practices align with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
• Lead and contribute to initiatives that improve visibility, oversight, and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in business, finance, economics, or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is an asset.
• Experience working with high-net-worth credit; Private Banking or high-net-worth client experience is an asset.
• Relevant financial services or credit coursework, including the Canadian Securities Course and Personal Financial Planning Course.
• Experience setting strategic team goals, coaching employees, and driving team performance.
• Strong analytical, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada at the specified location; a valid work or study permit may be required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, finance, or economics.
• Level I or higher of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
