Principal Salesforce Developer and Release Manager (Salesforce)

Location: Remote – United States. Applicants for North American positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.

Compensation: $130,241–$189,502 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain production Salesforce solutions using Apex classes and triggers, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and external integrations.
• Own complex Salesforce features from architecture through deployment and evaluate relevant Salesforce platform releases.
• Manage the release calendar and coordinate deployments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production using Gearset pipelines.
• Enforce approval gates, branching strategies, pull request standards, and deployment workflows across Jira and GitHub.
• Manage sandbox refreshes, environment configuration, QA/UAT data seeding, rollback plans, incident response, and release metrics.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and establish Salesforce development, testing, deployment, and branching standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including at least 3 years at principal or staff level.
• Expert knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Salesforce Flows, Process Builder, validation rules, Salesforce CLI, and SFDX.
• Expert Gearset experience with pipeline setup, environment comparisons, CI jobs, metadata conflicts, dependency resolution, rollback execution, and change monitoring.
• Strong GitHub experience with branching models, pull request workflows, branch protection, and merge conflict resolution.
• Experience using Jira for release gates, sign-offs, and linking issues with Gearset deployments and GitHub pull requests.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Nice to have

• Salesforce DevOps Specialist or Application Architect certification.
• Experience in SaaS, healthcare, or finance.
• Experience with Apex testing strategies, static analysis, automated regression frameworks, and Gearset data deployment.
• Exposure to MuleSoft or Boomi integration platforms.
