Software Engineer, Support Foundations (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office

Salary: $133,000–$184,000 base annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Build and modernize contact center infrastructure for voice calls, live chat, agent routing, IVR, and member authentication.
• Develop AI-powered self-service conversational flows, integrating LLMs and escalation logic.
• Ship real-time call and chat summarization features that improve agent efficiency and support quality.
• Design agent provisioning, skills assignment, and routing systems.
• Build resilient backend APIs for mobile products and scalable consumer features.
• Create data pipelines, monitoring, and dashboards for routing quality, resolution rates, and operational health; participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of production software development experience at scale.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with transactional databases and caching systems.
• Understanding of architectural patterns for large-scale web applications.
• Ability to write maintainable, well-tested backend code and contribute to occasional frontend or mobile features.
• Ability to work four days per week in the San Francisco office if located near an office.
