UAS Operator & Flight Operations Technician (R5438)

Location: Lviv, Ukraine; on-site. The role primarily supports operations in the Lviv region, with travel to other locations within Ukraine as required.

What you will do

• Operate fixed-wing and multirotor unmanned aircraft in simulation, ground-test, live-flight, demonstration, and operational environments.
• Act as a safety pilot for experimental and autonomous aircraft, including manual recovery when required.
• Operate ground control stations, telemetry systems, radios, and mission-support equipment.
• Prepare, inspect, launch, recover, transport, configure, and maintain aircraft, batteries, communications equipment, and field infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft and support equipment in field conditions.
• Maintain operational checklists, packing lists, maintenance logs, and flight documentation while coordinating with engineering and flight-test teams.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience operating unmanned aircraft in field, test, or operational environments.
• Experience with fixed-wing and multirotor platforms, including Group 1 and Group 2 UAS up to approximately 55 lbs / 25 kg.
• Knowledge of flight safety, emergency recovery, flight testing, demonstrations, and operational field exercises.
• Experience with SIL, HIL, VIL, or related test environments, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft and support equipment.
• Familiarity with Ukrainian airspace requirements and UAS operating procedures; ability to obtain and maintain required Ukrainian remote-pilot or UAS certifications.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to transport equipment and personnel, and willingness to travel within Ukraine.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous or experimental aircraft testing, defense or tactical UAS operations, or austere field environments.
• Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, RF communications, datalinks, networking, or mechanical and electrical UAS maintenance.
• Familiarity with BVLOS operations and operational risk management.
• Ukrainian and English language proficiency.
• Background in military, defense, robotics, or aerospace operations.
