Data Center Operations Manager

Location: Must be based in Elk Grove Village, IL (Onsite 5 days per week)

Salary: $137,000 – $183,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage and lead a team of data center technicians to ensure operational excellence.
• Maintain high availability, reliability, and security of the data center environment.
• Oversee the racking, cabling, and configuration of server, storage, and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in advanced AI systems.
• Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to manage large-scale deployments.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, policies, and customer SLAs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with critical data center infrastructure (power, cooling, DCIM, cabling).
• Basic understanding of Linux administration.
• Experience setting up networking appliances (Ethernet and InfiniBand).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
• Willingness to mentor team members and foster professional growth.
• Must be able to work onsite 5 days per week in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Nice to have

• Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, SNMP, etc.).
• Background in large-scale distributed data center environments.
• Familiarity with ISO/SOC compliance audits.
• Experience with Supermicro and Nvidia hardware.
• Previous experience in data center team management.
