Software Engineer — Security (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA

Salary: $220,000–$300,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Build Infrastructure as Code governance and security automation using Python, AWS-native services, and policy-as-code frameworks.
• Architect secure AWS environments, including landing zones, multi-account structures, network segmentation, routing, and cross-account access.
• Design secure-by-default patterns for Kubernetes, containers, IAM, encryption, and key management.
• Operate CSPM tooling, investigate security events, triage incidents, and lead remediation through resolution.
• Conduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, secure design assessments, and AI/ML security assessments.
• Own complex security initiatives end-to-end and align cloud security practices with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and CIS benchmarks.

Requirements

• Programming experience in Python, Go, or similar languages for security tooling and automation.
• Experience operating systems at scale in cloud-native, containerized environments.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, deployment governance, and infrastructure security reviews.
• Experience with AWS cloud architecture, IAM role and policy design, least privilege, and human and machine identity patterns.
• Experience with network security, including VPC design, security groups, NACLs, subnet segmentation, routing, and egress controls.
• Ability to communicate security risks clearly, collaborate cross-functionally, and take ownership of multiple initiatives.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAST, SCA, SBOM automation, secrets scanning, or secure development lifecycle practices.
• Incident response, digital forensics, SIEM, SOAR, penetration testing, or detection engineering experience.
• Experience with GCP or Azure, zero-trust architecture, DLP, or adversarial testing of AI systems.
