TL;DR
Senior Director, Global Payroll and Equity Administration (Global Payroll/Equity): Building and scaling worldwide payroll and equity infrastructure across Coupang’s global entities with an accent on operational accuracy, compliance, and proprietary system delivery. Focus on designing multi-jurisdictional controls, re-engineering payroll and equity processes, and partnering with engineering teams to develop scalable internal platforms.

What you will do
- Design and execute the global payroll and equity strategy across all entities.
- Lead end-to-end payroll processing and equity administration, including stock options, RSUs, and performance-based awards.
- Act as the functional product owner for proprietary payroll and equity systems, partnering with engineering and IT teams.
- Re-engineer processes, establish transformation KPIs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Build global compliance controls covering tax logic, labor requirements, and equity regulations.
- Lead vendor strategy, data architecture, analytics, and development of a high-performing global team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in payroll and equity administration.
- Experience managing complex, high-volume, multi-country environments in large publicly traded organizations.
- Proven experience building custom or proprietary payroll and equity software from scratch.
- Deep regulatory and operational expertise across global geographies, especially Asia-Pacific and North America.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
