Virtualization-Cloud Consultant

Location: Arlington, VA / Washington, DC 20001, United States; flexible travel in the DC Metro area.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver cloud technology strategies and solutions for legacy and new application migration.
• Design cloud-based infrastructure architectures across public, private, and hybrid environments.
• Implement orchestration and automation for cloud infrastructure.
• Work with OpenStack, VMware virtualization tools, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Administer operating systems, tune server and operating system performance, and support converged infrastructure.
• Contribute to technical planning, project management, and collaborative delivery across projects.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with cloud technologies and at least two cloud platforms or service models.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with cloud architecture and design.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure architecture, orchestration, automation, or virtualization.
• Ability to administer, modify, or deploy at least one operating system, such as Solaris, Linux, or Windows.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• U.S. work authorization without current or future employer visa sponsorship is required. An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may also be required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with OpenStack components, architectures, integration points, and open-source standards.
• Experience with VMware vCloud Director, vCloud Orchestrator, Chef, Puppet, HP Server Automation, or BladeLogic.
• Knowledge of converged infrastructure, ITIL concepts and processes, and performance tuning.
• Experience in project management and detailed technical planning.
