What you will do
- Lead end-to-end technical programme management across initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Manage the development, integration, field testing, and deployment of autonomous systems, including UAVs, USVs, and UUVs.
- Deliver contractual and customer commitments while coordinating government, defence, supplier, and technical stakeholders.
- Conduct critical path analysis, earned value tracking, programme health reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Support business development activities, including EOIs, RFTs, RFIs, proposals, and unsolicited submissions.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a technical project or programme manager in complex engineering or technology domains.
- Proven delivery of complex cross-functional projects aligned with long-term business strategy, including 0→1 product development cycles.
- Strong understanding of project financials, earned value management, estimates at completion, and contract data requirements.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Vena, or Salesforce.
- Experience working with or within the Australian Defence Force.
- Strong communication, leadership, organisation, influencing, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with software or autonomy development programmes.
- Familiarity with ASDEFCON or equivalent contracting frameworks.
- Experience with multinational teams, flight test campaigns, or airworthiness certification.
- PMP or Certified ScrumMaster accreditation.
- Experience managing international defence-related projects.
