What you will do
- Develop production welding processes, station methods, process instructions, and control procedures.
- Analyze production and quality data to identify weld non-conformities and resolve manufacturing problems.
- Perform weld capability analysis and troubleshoot weld instability and equipment capability issues.
- Maintain process documentation, including FMEAs, control plans, work instructions, check sheets, and process sheets.
- Provide hands-on support for production welding equipment troubleshooting and repair in coordination with maintenance.
- Lead continuous-improvement action plans and support plant goals through cross-functional problem solving.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in welding metallurgy or welding technology with four years of practical experience, or ten years of equivalent work experience.
- Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Ability to lead root-cause analysis, interpret complex data, and implement high-impact solutions.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, production, quality, and leadership teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Current Certified Welding Inspector certification, or the ability to obtain CWI certification, is preferred.
