Senior Software Engineer (Medtech): Designing, developing, verifying, and maintaining software for connected cardiac medical device products with an accent on regulatory compliance, software quality, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on leading technical execution, reviewing requirements and code, mentoring engineers, and applying AI-assisted tools while maintaining medical-device safety standards.
Location: Hybrid position in Galway, County Galway, Ireland
Salary: €65,600–€98,400 per year, plus eligibility for the Incentive Plan.

What you will do
- Design, develop, verify, and maintain software for medical device products in line with applicable standards, including IEC 62304.
- Collaborate with product, systems, test, and architecture teams to define technical solutions and deliver project objectives.
- Lead estimation, planning, and technical execution across software development phases.
- Review requirements, architecture, design documentation, source code, and other engineering deliverables.
- Mentor software engineers and promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Use AI-assisted tools for implementation, code review, and debugging while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with at least 2 years of experience.
- Experience with established software development lifecycle processes, Agile methodologies, and Test-Driven Development.
- Proficiency in at least two of XML, C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Python, or HTML.
- Experience participating in software design, code reviews, and software verification activities.
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Galway, Ireland.

- Experience in cross-functional product development environments.
- Experience developing reusable frameworks, components, or design patterns.
