Senior Calibration Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

What you will do

• Design, build, and own end-to-end intrinsic and extrinsic calibration pipelines for cameras, lidar, radar, IMU, and GNSS.
• Develop factory calibration procedures and continuous calibration algorithms.
• Define calibration accuracy requirements with software, hardware, and operations stakeholders.
• Build automated tooling for calibration validation and fleet-wide monitoring.
• Scale calibration infrastructure for new sensor configurations, vehicle platforms, and fleet growth.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

• PhD or highly qualified MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in sensor calibration, computer vision, robotics, or a closely related area.
• Strong knowledge of multi-sensor calibration, including camera intrinsics and extrinsics, camera–LiDAR, LiDAR–IMU, radar alignment, and hand–eye calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python in a production software environment.
• Experience with OpenCV, Ceres, GTSAM, Eigen, ROS, or similar robotics and computer vision tools.
• Ability to take ambiguous problems from concept through deployment, including production validation and monitoring.
