Staff, Machine Learning Engineer (Search & Discovery) (AI/ML and recommendation systems): Designing and scaling end-to-end recommendation systems using ranking, retrieval, relevance models, and massive real-time datasets with an accent on algorithm development, feature engineering, and experimentation. Focus on building reliable online serving systems, launching high-impact models, solving customer discovery challenges, and mentoring engineers.

What you will do
- Own and evolve a critical recommendation service that improves product discovery and customer experience.
- Design, develop, and scale ranking, retrieval, relevance, and recommendation models.
- Analyze large volumes of customer behavior data to generate actionable insights.
- Create data jobs for machine learning features, train models, run experiments, and launch successful algorithms.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to build a scalable recommendation platform.
- Mentor and develop engineers across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience applying AI/ML to large-scale, complex datasets.
- Experience deriving actionable insights, creating robust features, and building reliable machine learning models.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and experience delivering large-scale, high-impact solutions across teams.
- Professional industry experience with Python and/or Java.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a related technical or scientific field.
- Experience with recommendation or search systems.
- Experience with LLMs, PLMs, and embedding models.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Vertex AI.
- Experience operating online serving systems at scale.
