Sr. Staff, Machine Learning Engineer (Search & Discovery) (AI/ML and Recommendation Systems): Designing and scaling end-to-end recommendation systems, including ranking, retrieval, relevance models, feature pipelines, and online serving systems, with an accent on massive real-time datasets and measurable customer impact. Focus on launching high-impact algorithms, running experiments, building reliable models, collaborating across global teams, and mentoring engineers.

What you will do
- Own the recommendation service and continuously improve the customer product discovery experience.
- Design, develop, and evolve end-to-end recommendation systems, including ranking, retrieval, and relevance models.
- Analyze large-scale customer behavior data to derive actionable insights.
- Create data jobs for machine learning features, train new models, run experiments, and launch improved algorithms.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to build scalable recommendation infrastructure.
- Mentor and develop engineers across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience applying AI/ML to large-scale, complex datasets.
- Experience extracting robust features, building reliable machine learning models, and launching algorithms with measurable business impact.
- Experience providing company-wide technical leadership and driving cross-functional delivery of large-scale solutions.
- Professional industry experience with Python and/or Java.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related science field.
- Experience with recommendation or search systems.
- Experience with LLMs, PLMs, embedding models, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and services such as Vertex AI.
- Experience with online serving systems operating at scale.
