Senior Tooling/Ground Support Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Redondo Beach, United States. Candidates must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year, with potential long-term incentives in the form of stock options.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement tooling and fixturing for metallic and composite structures.
• Develop test equipment to support testing of metallic and composite flight structures.
• Collaborate with designers, analysts, and engineers on spacecraft prototypes and test stands.
• Work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to bring designs into production.
• Solve complex technical challenges with an emphasis on rapid execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience designing fixtures or tooling.
• Experience using CAD and preparing manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale, and resolve concerns.
• Ability to satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with metrology systems such as ROMER Arms, optical scanners, and laser trackers.
• Machining, fabrication, welding, or composite manufacturing experience.
• Experience managing large assemblies and applying GD&T.
• Familiarity with lifting and rigging methods.
• Experience with NX/Teamcenter or in a startup or agile development environment.
