Global Reward Director (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, Japan

What you will do

• Develop and execute a global rewards strategy aligned with business objectives and talent priorities.
• Establish global compensation principles, policies, governance frameworks, and scalable job architecture.
• Lead annual performance and compensation review cycles, including salary planning, merit increases, and promotion adjustments.
• Expand long-term incentive programs, including RSUs, to broader leadership populations.
• Partner with executive leadership, Governance, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external compensation consultants.
• Provide expertise on market trends, pay transparency, reward practices, and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation, rewards, or total rewards.
• Experience implementing job architecture, career frameworks, and leveling methodologies.
• Deep knowledge of global compensation strategy, market benchmarking, and reward governance.
• Experience working with external compensation and reward consulting firms.
• Strong project management, change management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Japanese at JLPT N1 level and English at TOEIC 800 minimum; native fluency in at least one language.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-growth technology, aerospace, engineering, deep-tech, or listed/pre-IPO companies.
• Experience designing reward frameworks across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
• Experience supporting compensation committee or board-level remuneration discussions.
• Knowledge of compensation regulations and tax implications across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience leading a small global rewards team.
