Director of Data (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the Data organization and establish a lean, high-performing technical operating model.
• Own the technical vision, architecture, and execution for Data Engineering and Data Infrastructure.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams while driving accountability and technical excellence.
• Guide architectural decisions, design reviews, and execution of critical data initiatives.
• Partner with R&D, Product, Finance, Support, and go-to-market stakeholders to deliver scalable data products and platforms.
• Modernize the data ecosystem using modern data platforms, AI, automation, reliability, observability, and operational excellence practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, Data Infrastructure, or related technical domains.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience with direct people management and ownership of strategic technical initiatives.
• Hands-on expertise designing, building, and operating large-scale data platforms and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of data warehouses, data lakes, data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and cloud-based platforms.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or related functions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills, with an interest in AI, automation, and the future of data platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI, GenAI, LLM-based tools, or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience leading organizational or operational transformations within data teams.
• Background in high-growth B2B SaaS companies.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, dbt, DataOps, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or observability.
• Experience supporting Finance, Customer Support, Revenue Operations, go-to-market, or Business Intelligence domains.
