What you will do

  • Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL processes for analytics, reporting, and machine learning model training.
  • Build and optimize scalable data storage and retrieval systems for high-volume, multi-market datasets.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR.
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable datasets for experimentation and decision-making.
  • Implement monitoring and automation to improve pipeline efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to the data infrastructure roadmap for global operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, big data infrastructure, or large-scale ETL development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark, Hadoop, or Flink and at least one cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery, and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Luigi.
  • Effective communication in English is required; the role is onsite in London, UK.

Nice to have

  • Experience with e-commerce or consumer-facing platforms.
  • Experience building data platforms in cross-border or international environments.
  • Familiarity with real-time streaming frameworks such as Kafka or Pulsar.
  • Effective communication in Chinese.
