Senior PHP Backend Developer (SaaS)

Location: Remote, Minsk

Genesis Group AG develops Yesim, an international eSIM connectivity platform serving users across 200 countries.

What you will do

• Write and maintain clean PHP backend code using SOLID principles across frameworkless and framework-based systems.
• Design and maintain PHPUnit unit tests and integration tests for new and modified code.
• Participate in GitHub pull request reviews and take ownership of production code quality.
• Contribute to decomposing legacy monolith components into cleaner, modular architecture.
• Collaborate with the Tech Lead on technical decisions, architecture, estimation, and pair debugging.
• Improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional PHP development experience, including vanilla PHP.
• Working experience with Laravel, MySQL, REST API design, Docker, Git, and GitHub workflows.
• Experience writing tests with PHPUnit and applying SOLID, DRY, and KISS principles.
• Experience maintaining API documentation, architecture overviews, data flow diagrams, or similar technical documentation.
• Professional working English required for documentation, pull requests, and technical discussions.
• Russian at minimum A1 required for team communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical databases.
• Knowledge of AWS, Hetzner, PHPStan, CS Fixer, or similar static analysis tools.
• Experience with telecom, eSIM, or SaaS products.
• Exposure to Scrum or Agile delivery, Jira, Python or Bash automation, and ISO 27001.
