Software Engineer II - Database Engineering

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must be based in Guadalajara, Mexico

Clari and hirify.global are building an AI-powered Predictive Revenue System for enterprise revenue teams.

What you will do

• Scale and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL, Amazon Aurora, Cassandra, and MongoDB systems through monitoring and proactive maintenance.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code automation and database deployment tooling using Terraform or Ansible.
• Manage database backups, restores, replication, and high-availability configurations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across production and non-production environments.
• Implement database schema changes with senior engineers and product teams while following distributed-systems best practices.
• Apply security standards and monitor replication to protect data integrity and improve resource efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing or supporting cloud-based database systems on AWS or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL and experience with MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Experience using or modifying Terraform or Ansible automation.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for administrative automation.
• Understanding of backups, replication, high availability, SQL, and basic query performance tuning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a collaborative remote-first environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to distributed systems and horizontal scaling concepts such as sharding or read replicas.
