Software Engineer (Optical Communications)

Location: Singapore, Singapore; on-site. Only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

What you will do

• Conceptualise, design, and develop optical communications solutions by integrating in-house components with commercial off-the-shelf products.
• Develop middleware and control planes that connect software applications with optical appliances.
• Build systems that orchestrate, monitor, and optimise optical communication networks.
• Conduct research and development on current and emerging optical communications systems.
• Evaluate new products and optical communications technologies to address evolving security challenges.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or Python.
• Familiarity with message brokers, REST API design, and microservices architecture.
• Understanding of communication systems theory, signal processing concepts, and optical transport technologies.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting optical communication network issues.
• Experience using laboratory instruments such as spectrum analysers, optical scopes, and network testers.
