TL;DR
Senior Chief Platform Architect (Quantum Computing Software): Designing Quantinuum’s developer platform for quantum computer access, hybrid workflow orchestration, tooling, documentation, and security with an accent on scalable APIs, cloud-native applications, and hardware-software co-design. Focus on defining platform interfaces, building multi-region portal architecture, ensuring reliability and security at scale, and mentoring senior software engineers.
Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado; Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; London; or Cambridge, UK
Salary: $240,000–$300,000 annually, inclusive of bonus target where applicable

What you will do
- Own the design and specifications of a high-performance quantum software developer platform.
- Refine quantum computer access APIs and web portal architecture for performance, scalability, security, and multi-region operation.
- Transform the web portal into an application development and delivery framework using cloud-based hybrid workflow orchestration and reusable quantum/classical components.
- Define standard interfaces for hosting application components and enabling internal and external developers to build applications.
- Translate business goals into technical requirements, evaluate technologies, and help maintain the technology roadmap.
- Establish coding standards, perform architectural reviews, and mentor senior software engineers.
Requirements
- 25+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5+ years in a senior architect or lead role focused on developer platforms.
- Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native solutions.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, developer portals such as Backstage, and observability tools.
- Experience designing large-scale software systems and leading architectural work across teams without direct authority.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

- Experience designing and architecting developer platforms.
- Experience building platform engineering teams from the ground up.
- Background in Site Reliability Engineering.
- Publications or patents in quantum computing.
