Product Designer, New Grad - US Government

Location: Washington, D.C.; hybrid work

Salary: $130,000–$135,000 per year, plus potential restricted stock units, sign-on bonus, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Design product concepts, high-level workflows, micro-interactions, and visual interfaces for complex analytical software.
• Prototype and refine designs using tools such as Figma.
• Conduct informal user research through usability testing, contextual inquiry, customer interviews, and product usage metrics.
• Collaborate with product managers and forward-deployed engineers to prototype and build products.
• Create flexible, reusable UI components and advocate for UX consistency.
• Communicate design rationale, incorporate feedback, and solve complex data-dense interface problems.

Requirements

• Planning to graduate in 2027.
• Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance.
• Portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project.
• Experience with interaction and visual design, prototyping, and user research.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is appreciated for collaboration with frontend engineers.
