AI Platform Architect (AI infrastructure): Maintaining and evolving the shared platform that makes AI systems usable, secure, and scalable across the company with an accent on gateways, orchestration, observability, security boundaries, and deployment infrastructure. Focus on building reusable platform primitives, implementing reliable CI/CD and infrastructure patterns, and establishing evaluation, auditability, and policy controls for mission-critical AI applications.
Location: Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site in Austin, TX
Salary: Starting at $160,000 per year

What you will do
- Maintain and evolve platform architecture, service boundaries, APIs, and reusable primitives for AI systems.
- Build and harden AI model gateways, orchestration layers, shared tools, integration frameworks, and operational control planes.
- Implement deployment patterns, CI/CD workflows, containers, and infrastructure-as-code practices for reliable AI services.
- Develop observability, evaluation, feedback, usage telemetry, and audit-trail systems for AI-generated outputs.
- Establish security boundaries, data-access patterns, policy guardrails, identity controls, and auditability.
- Collaborate with solutions engineers and stakeholders to provide reusable capabilities across company systems.
Requirements
- Strong ability to design platform systems with clear APIs, service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns.
- Clear, maintainable coding practices and sound judgment around reliability, security, operational quality, and system complexity.
- Ability to turn ambiguous platform needs into durable systems and handle integrations, operational issues, and platform hardening.
- Daily use of AI coding agents or agentic development workflows, with demonstrated interest through projects, experiments, evaluations, or sustained use of models and tools.
- Ability to evaluate and refine AI-generated code and structure harnesses, tools, and workflows.
- United States-based and willing to work on-site in Austin, TX.
Nice to have
- Experience with internal developer platforms, API gateways, control planes, or multi-tenant systems.
- Experience in regulated, high-reliability, or compliance-sensitive environments.
- Background in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, controls, or operational software.
- Exposure to AI-driven workflows, evaluation systems, or agent-based platforms.
