Backend Engineer (Kotlin)

Location: Kfar Saba, Israel (hybrid)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code.
• Improve system performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
• Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize relational database queries.
• Operate production environments using a “you build it, you run it” approach, with a focus on stability and observability.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of backend development experience.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar languages such as Python or .NET.
• A B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and strong SQL skills.
• Adaptability, fast learning, and effective communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing in highly distributed, cloud-based environments.
• AWS or other cloud experience.
• Experience leading large-scale features from end to end.
