Senior Software Engineer I - Backend (Python)

What you will do

• Build complex backend solutions and deliver high-impact improvements to the codebase, platforms, and core systems.
• Design and deliver REST-based APIs and architect solutions within the product stream.
• Lead product planning, feature planning, and release roll-out and roll-back strategies.
• Write exemplary production code and comprehensive unit, component, and integration tests.
• Review major pull requests, define programming standards, and mentor engineers through peer programming.
• Contribute to post-release maintenance, technical vision, reliability, efficiency, and cross-team innovation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with Python and Django.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
• Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure; AWS is preferred.
• Experience with web infrastructure, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, performance analysis, and search infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, queuing, logging, security, persistence, caching strategies, build processes, and continuous integration.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, prioritization, adaptability, and end-to-end software development lifecycle experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience working on high-traffic, large-scale web products.
