Engineering Manager - Internal Tools (SDE 5) (Backend) (Golang/Python): Leading backend engineering teams delivering features across core banking products with an accent on technical design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and operational excellence. Focus on setting architectural direction, improving reliability and observability, coaching engineers, and driving end-to-end delivery.

What you will do
- Lead software engineers delivering features across one or more core banking products.
- Drive end-to-end development from planning and design through implementation, testing, and release.
- Evaluate technical designs and guide the team's architectural direction.
- Improve engineering and operational excellence across observability, reliability, quality, performance, security, and production support.
- Collaborate with product, business, engineering, and QA stakeholders in an agile environment.
- Coach team members, provide feedback, and support hiring, onboarding, and retention.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of total software engineering experience, including at least 1 year managing a team.
- Experience building and maintaining backend applications in a fast-growing company.
- Hands-on experience with programming, technical design, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Backend experience with Golang, Python, Redis, MySQL, NoSQL, SQS, Kafka, and AWS services.
- Experience with agile planning and execution, strategic thinking, and process improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across cross-functional and distributed teams.
