Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote in South Africa

What you will do

• Design services and application components using established design patterns and scalable, maintainable architectures.
• Provide technical guidance, contribute to code standards, review code, and support release and go-live activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external clients, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify proof-of-concepts, analyze product adoption, and propose solutions for enhancement requests.
• Mentor less experienced developers and improve team processes, documentation, version control, and development hygiene.
• Use AI tools for code generation, testing, debugging, optimization, automation, and evaluation of relevant AI/ML capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of one or more programming languages and relevant technology stacks.
• Strong knowledge of web application development and proven software design patterns.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating effectively with team members.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python, Django, and Vue.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM and TDD methodologies.
