Sr. Engineer - Applications Software - Zephyr (Embedded Systems): Leading the development, testing, and maintenance of Ambiq’s Zephyr software offering, including SoC porting, hardware enablement, samples, drivers, and test cases, with an accent on ARM Cortex-M systems and ultra-low-power optimization. Focus on debugging complex HW/SW issues, maintaining CI/CD and Zephyr compliance, developing software solutions, and coordinating with the Zephyr community.

What you will do
- Lead development, testing, and maintenance of ’s Zephyr software offering.
- Port SoCs to Zephyr and enable hardware evaluation platforms.
- Develop samples, drivers, software test cases, and hardware enablement features.
- Maintain Zephyr repository processes, compliance, CI/CD, and issue resolution.
- Debug complex system-level hardware/software issues with internal engineering teams.
- Optimize power consumption and support applications engineers, field engineers, and customers.
Requirements
- MS in ECE or Computer Science with 6+ years of experience, or BS with 8+ years; at least 3 years in the Zephyr ecosystem.
- Deep understanding of Zephyr RTOS and experience with ARM Cortex-M processors.
- Embedded MCU development experience in C and assembly language.
- Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, and USB peripherals, plus an MCU IDE such as Keil, IAR, Eclipse, Ozone, or ARM tools.
- Hands-on lab debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Experience with git, scripting languages, software testing, test automation, Jira, and Confluence; Python experience is desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience with security, Bluetooth, Matter/Thread, or machine learning models in the Zephyr ecosystem.
