Software Quality Engineer (Java using Selenium)

What you will do

• Plan, analyze, document, and execute manual test cases for new and updated software features.
• Build, configure, maintain, and document automated regression test suites and their environments using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Perform functional, nonfunctional, integration, regression, system, smoke, sanity, and compatibility testing.
• Review requirements, product design documentation, and pull requests for correctness, clarity, and verifiability.
• Diagnose defects, report test results and metrics, and monitor application performance after implementation.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product managers on test methods, build scripts, system requirements, and quality improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in the software development life cycle and at least 3 years of test automation experience.
• Experience with Java, Selenium, Jasmine, Page Object Model, and Cucumber.
• At least 2 years of experience developing RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of programming and software development, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests.
• Bachelor’s degree, BTEC, or equivalent experience, plus strong communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Cape Town.

Nice to have

• ISTQB or ISEB certification.
• Java, Spring, or AWS certification.
• Affiliate and Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification by PXA.
