TL;DR
Software Quality Engineer (Java/Selenium) (SaaS): Building and maintaining automated regression testing for partnership automation software with an accent on Java, Selenium WebDriver, test planning, and defect management. Focus on designing functional and nonfunctional test coverage, diagnosing issues across the software delivery lifecycle, and maintaining reliable automated testing environments.

Location: Cape Town, South Africa; hybrid work environment

What you will do

  • Plan, analyze, execute, and report on functional, nonfunctional, integration, regression, system, smoke, sanity, and compatibility testing.
  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain automated regression tests using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
  • Create test plans, detailed test cases, test tools, build scripts, server configurations, and automation documentation.
  • Review product requirements and design documentation for correctness, clarity, and verifiability.
  • Collaborate with Software Development Engineers and Product Managers on system interfaces, performance requirements, pull requests, and design improvements.
  • Manage defects, track test and code coverage metrics, diagnose issues, and monitor software performance after implementation.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in the software development life cycle.
  • At least 3 years of test automation experience with Selenium, Jasmine, Page Object Model, and Cucumber.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of programming and software development, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests.
  • Bachelor’s degree, BTEC, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, creative thinking, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • ISTQB or ISEB certification.
  • Certification in Java, Spring, or AWS technologies.
  • Affiliate and Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification by PXA.
