Silicon Validation, Test & Characterization Engineer (SerDes): Executing early silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation for NuLink high-speed die-to-die interconnects with an accent on multi-Gbps SerDes, PHYs, electrical measurements, and automation. Focus on developing validation infrastructure, correlating lab measurements with simulations, and solving silicon, package, and board-level issues through systematic debug.

What you will do

  • Execute early silicon bring-up, including system initialization, validation infrastructure development, and test-content creation for high-speed interfaces.
  • Define and execute post-silicon validation plans for multi-Gbps SerDes, PHYs, PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, DDR, and related interconnect technologies.
  • Develop Python and TCL automation frameworks and test scripts to improve validation efficiency and coverage.
  • Perform electrical and protocol-level validation, including BER testing, jitter and eye-diagram analysis, compliance testing, and margin assessment.
  • Correlate lab measurements with simulations, debug discrepancies, and identify root causes across silicon, package, and board levels.
  • Document findings and support design, architecture, systems, product engineering, manufacturing, and test teams through productization and production ramp.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in chip bring-up, post-silicon validation, and high-speed interconnect debug.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed laboratory equipment, including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERTs, DCAs, VNAs, and TDRs.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, clock architectures, analog and mixed-signal systems, high-speed DACs and ADCs, equalization, and link-training protocols.
  • Ability to correlate silicon measurements with design simulations and models and drive systematic debug.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, with Python preferred.
  • MS or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related field, plus strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PCB or evaluation-board validation.
