Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, full-time role in the Barcelona office, Spain

hirify.global builds conversational AI voice agents for healthcare organizations, automating administrative workflows such as claims checks, benefit verification, prior authorizations, scheduling, and balance reminders.

What you will do

• Build and ship capabilities, MVPs, and internal tooling across the FastAPI/Python and PostgreSQL backend and React/TypeScript frontend.
• Develop and maintain integrations with EHRs, payor systems, APIs, and customer-specific internal tools.
• Debug and resolve issues in high-volume systems supporting AI agents handling thousands of daily phone calls.
• Work with AI product managers and engineers to turn client feedback into improvements for the core platform.
• Optimize voice agents through LLM prompting, voice and transcription configuration, and conversation logic.
• Prioritize work across multiple clients and competing deadlines while maintaining quality.

Requirements

• Experience with software development through internships, side projects, or equivalent practical work.
• Understanding of FastAPI/Python, PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
• Ability to handle the challenges of supporting AI voice agents making thousands of daily phone calls.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work from the Barcelona office in a hybrid setup.
• Ownership, strong work ethic, analytical rigor, and a founder mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with clients and creating solutions for their needs.
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, or other machine learning models.
