Senior Data Analyst (E-commerce Logistics)

Takealot Fulfilment Solutions is the logistics division of Takealot Online, focused on technology-enabled e-commerce fulfilment and operational improvement across South Africa.

What you will do

• Build and optimize analytical models, reports, and dashboards using Looker, Looker Studio, Dataform, branch dashboards, and weekly reporting tools.
• Analyze strategic and operational questions, identify important business variables, and uncover root causes affecting performance.
• Automate data extraction and report updates, while performing data cleansing, validation, integrity testing, and data modeling.
• Provide actionable information to TFS managers, franchise managers, and other stakeholders to support operational decisions and improvement plans.
• Use weekly and monthly targets to monitor day-to-day performance and formulate solutions for operational issues.
• Incorporate customer, branch, driver, and courier feedback into continuous performance improvement processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar field, plus 3 years of relevant BI, data, or engineering experience; alternatively, a relevant Higher Certificate and 6 years of experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, ETL pipelines, Google BigQuery, AWS, Looker Studio, and Python.
• Experience with automation and cron scheduling, large datasets, and optimization on digital platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
• Knowledge of BI fundamentals, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, database schema design, query and index optimization, error handling, and logging.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, attention to detail, prioritization, and ability to work with ambiguous and complex problems.

• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain environments.
