What you will do
- Set the technical direction for core AI agent systems, including automation building, runtime reliability, evaluations, and observability.
- Lead ambiguous backend and full-stack projects with significant product impact.
- Build systems that convert SOPs, decision trees, portal behaviors, and edge cases into robust healthcare automations.
- Develop workflow drafting, testing, failure detection, improvement suggestions, and human-intervention capabilities.
- Improve architecture, feedback loops, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Mentor teammates through pairing, code reviews, and hands-on technical leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Experience leading complex backend or platform projects with production impact.
- Strong systems design skills across distributed systems, databases, APIs, queues, asynchronous workflows, and observability.
- Ability to turn ambiguous product goals into clear technical direction while remaining hands-on with code.
- Experience integrating AI tools or experimenting with unconventional solutions.
- High ownership, strong prioritization, and the ability to elevate other engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience with platform, infrastructure, or workflow systems at scale.
- Experience building agentic products or agent-based workflows.
- Experience integrating LLMs or AI models into production backend systems.
- Background in event-driven architectures, workflow engines, observability, or runtime reliability.
- Experience in healthcare operations or revenue cycle management.
