Platform & SRE Engineer (Database and Search Platform)

CSIT develops products supporting Singapore’s national security interests, including counter-terrorism and computer network defence operations.

What you will do

• Build and maintain highly available, scalable database and search platforms using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
• Design and implement data integration and migration pipelines ingesting data from APIs, files, and other databases.
• Improve platform availability and performance through SRE practices, cloud-native technologies, automation, and observability.
• Manage incidents, troubleshoot issues, resolve problems, and conduct post-mortems for database and search platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship as a subject matter expert in database and search platform engineering.
• Collaborate with project, engineering, and operations teams to align platform usability with organisational goals.

Requirements

• Degree or background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with relational or NoSQL database systems, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
• Proficiency in Bash, Go, Java, and Python.
• Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and observability.
• Experience with data modelling, schema design, performance tuning, and data migration.
• Only Singapore Citizens will be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience managing physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Experience managing cloud database and search services such as AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database Services.
