Head of Forward Deployed Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Lead and manage the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team to bridge the gap between product development and customer delivery.
• Oversee project scoping, deployment, and customization of core technology at customer sites or in virtual environments.
• Act as a technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions align with product capabilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing team while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Define and track KPIs for deployed projects to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, technical consulting, or deployment roles.
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record of leading engineering or deployment teams in client-facing environments.
• Strong technical background in applied AI engineering, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and data platforms.
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be able to work on-site in Austin, TX.
