Head of Electrical Engineering (AI Factory Development)

Location: Australia or Singapore, with regular travel across the AI Factory portfolio

What you will do

• Lead the electrical engineering function across hirify.global AI Factory sites and ensure consistent implementation of the reference electrical design.
• Set technical standards for MV/LV distribution, UPS and standby generation, protection and relay coordination, earthing and bonding, power quality, and electrical interfaces to liquid-cooled GPU halls.
• Govern field design reviews, deviations, change control, factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning readiness, energisation, and handover to operations.
• Feed site constraints, vendor performance, operational learnings, and commissioning findings into reference design updates, standards, templates, and Basis of Design documents.
• Build and lead a geographically distributed team of site-based electrical engineers across Australia, Indonesia, and future operating geographies.
• Partner with reference design, mechanical and thermal, controls, networking, construction, commissioning, and operations leaders.

Requirements

• More than 12 years of progressive experience in hyperscale or mission-critical data centres, industrial power systems, or comparable high-availability infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably power systems, recognised in at least one operating jurisdiction.
• Deep expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS, standby and prime-power generation, switching, protection, relay coordination, arc-flash safety, earthing, bonding, and dense GPU compute halls.
• Experience with power-system modelling, including load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, and transient stability analysis.
• Experience leading tender design reviews, consultant and contractor governance, factory acceptance testing, integrated systems testing, commissioning from level 1 through level 5, and operational handover.
• Proven ability to lead distributed teams and manage consultants and EPC contractors across multiple countries and regulatory environments.

Nice to have

• Experience authoring or materially contributing to global electrical Basis of Design documents, minimum standards, or reference architectures.
• Experience delivering AI infrastructure or hyperscale projects in APAC, particularly Indonesia and Australia.
• Experience with value engineering, DfMA, sustainability outcomes, utilities, regulators, and major equipment vendors.
