What you will do
- Implement platform infrastructure abstractions that translate service-team requirements into infrastructure-as-code parameters and production deployments.
- Deploy and operate VPCs, compute pools, storage, Kubernetes clusters, and platform networking.
- Help maintain managed publish/subscribe messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Use infrastructure-as-code modules from Cloud Operations and provide operational feedback and enhancement requests.
- Write production-quality Java code with security and engineering best practices built in.
- Work with senior engineers on cloud architecture, Kubernetes, and operational reliability.
Requirements
- Software-engineering fundamentals with Java or similar programming experience.
- Basic knowledge of networking and cloud-computing concepts.
- Comfort with the Linux command line and willingness to learn systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with GCP; AWS or Azure experience is preferred.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, containerisation, orchestration, or Terraform is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in a collaborative engineering environment or an internship.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
