Simulation Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City metropolitan area; in-person work 5 days a week in the office. Candidates must be located nearby or be open to relocation.

Salary: $250K–$800K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Productionize the core simulation loop, including audience generation, world modeling, and response prediction.
• Design reusable agent and population objects, simulation contracts, interfaces, and evaluation harnesses.
• Build infrastructure for measuring accuracy and optimize simulations for speed and cost at scale.
• Partner with Simulation Research to harden hybrid LLM and classical ML architectures.
• Develop deployment workflows and tooling for launching client simulations.
• Create calculation, analysis, and publication layers that turn agent outputs into decision-ready customer artifacts.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in machine learning and AI, including meaningful experience using large language models in production.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building ML or AI systems.
• Experience designing rigorous ML experiments from hypothesis through evaluation and deployment.
• Experience across the model lifecycle, including data collection, training, evaluation, and production integration.
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to ship ML-powered features.
• Ability to work in person 5 days a week in the New York City office, or willingness to relocate to the New York City metropolitan area.

Nice to have

• Publications at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, or other top ML venues.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, simulation, agent-based modeling, Monte Carlo methods, or modeling and prediction systems.
• Background in probabilistic modeling, Bayesian inference, causal reasoning, or hybrid LLM and classical ML architectures.
• Experience in quantitative or data-heavy fields such as quantitative finance, computational social science, ad measurement, forecasting, statistics, or psychometrics.
• Research experience, including reading papers, prototyping with researchers, or contributing to published work.
