Lead Data Scientist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Drive commercial impact by identifying and prioritizing high-leverage data science opportunities.
• Lead the people and culture agenda, managing performance and development for the data science team.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, setting and maintaining high standards across the modeling lifecycle.
• Represent data science in cross-functional partnerships with engineering, product, and pricing teams.
• Build collective ownership of technical standards, tooling, and best practices across the function.

Requirements

• Must be based in London and able to work in a hybrid capacity (3 days a week in office).
• Must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of driving team culture.
• Strong background as a senior individual contributor with commercial experience delivering end-to-end ML solutions.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction and communicate complex trade-offs to senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance, fraud, or other regulated decisioning domains.
• Experience contributing to Gen AI strategy and leading teams to deliver measurable value with AI solutions.
